Stormy Downtown Toronto Skyline

 

This is a photograph which I shot from the last floor of the Manulife Centre in Downtown Toronto, during a rain storm.

Here are some interesting facts about Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

  • Toronto is in Southern Ontario which has shorelines on four of the five, Great Lakes
    and located, further south than ten of the northern states of the USA.
  • Toronto residents hold more university educations than in any other country, in the world, based on percentage of population.
  • Toronto is the largest, financial centre in Canada and fourth largest, economic centre in North America. New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, USA are larger economic centres.
  • Toronto is the “Silicon Valley” of Canada, and Toronto is also, known as “Hollywood North”.
  • Toronto’s theatre district is second in size, only to New York city. Award-winning, theatre productions enjoy long runs, large audiences and world premieres in the theatre district of Toronto.
  • All major Canadian banks have their world headquarters in downtown Toronto, including, the world headquarters of the “Bank of Montreal” which is located at “First Canadian” Tower, in Toronto’s downtown, financial district. All foreign banks have their Canadian headquarters in Toronto. (You can see the Bank of Montreal building in this picture as the tallest building after the CN Tower)
  • Toronto has the only, real castle in all of North America. You will never forget “Casa Loma” (home on hill) with vista views of both, the downtown, skyline of Toronto and of Great Lake Ontario.
  • Canada’s largest general, life and re-insurance companies and other financial institutions have their world headquarters in downtown Toronto. Canada’s version of “Wall Street” is called “Bay Street” and located in the centre of Toronto’s powerful, financial and business district.
